A Day 2 roundtable announces United Free Press — a Hulu-like consortium so professional journalism can control distribution, advertising and sponsorship without Silicon Valley filters.

Late on Day 2, speakers tied COVID-era content removals and election-information filtering to a structural problem: a handful of Silicon Valley executives deciding what the public may see.

The announcement was United Free Press — described as inviting media companies worldwide at no cost into a consortium modelled on streaming-era joint ventures, so outlets keep control of distribution, ads and sponsors. One speaker cited tens of thousands of doctors removed from platforms during COVID as evidence that gatekeeping reached into professional speech.

“What we're working on in this project with roundtable technology is bringing together something called united free press… so that professional journalism can control their own distribution.”
