Senator Pauline Hanson retells her parliamentary burqa protest, defends a monocultural Australia that is multiracial, and attacks Net Zero as a secondary salvo.
Australian One Nation founder Senator Pauline Hanson used her first CPAC Britain speech to revisit a signature stunt: wearing a burqa on the floor of Parliament after colleagues blocked her private member's bill to ban full-face coverings.
She described chamber chaos, a 90-minute shutdown, and refusing a permanent pledge never to wear it again. Hanson framed the protest as necessary theatre after process failed, noting that dozens of countries — including some Muslim-majority states — have banned the burqa. She also restated her long-standing line: Australia should be multiracial but monocultural, with newcomers embracing Australian laws and identity.
“I don't remember that woman who dared to wear a Berkha on the floor of parliament. Well, you may not recognize me… but it was me.”
